Ishøj offers a wide variety of accommodation, close to beautiful nature, at affordable prices and only a stone's throw from Copenhagen. Danhostel Ishøj Strand, for instance, has rooms with a private bathroom and provides a delicious breakfast buffet. If you are visiting with a tent or motorhome, you can stay on the campsite next to the hostel, or you could put up your tent at Tangloppen Camping with a view over Ishøj Harbour and ARKEN Museum of Modern Art. If you are looking for a little more luxury, Ishøj's Zleep Hotel may be your answer. With its location and six to eight floors, the hotel has perhaps the city's best views. If you want to get even closer to the locals, you can take a room at a local Bed & Breakfast.
Enjoy the day at the sandy beach in Ishøj
Take a day trip to Ishøj and take a break at the sandy beach only 20 minutes from Copenhagen. Go for a swim in the clear blue water. Take shelter in a sand dune and let the children build castles in the sand or buy ice cream at the kiosk. In the Beach Park, you find plenty of opportunity for activities like sailing, kite surfing and swimming. You could also go biking or hiking on one of the new Clover Paths and explore the beautiful scenery and the rich birdlife. Also, visit Ishøj Marina, have a look at the elegant sailing ships, and enjoy lunch at one of the small local marina restaurants. Take the opportunity to visit the internationally rated exhibitions at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art. Go by S-train, line A or E, to Ishøj Station and continue by bus no. 128 for two minutes to the beach and ARKEN.
